Our Mission/Vision Statement. . .and how we
fulfill it -
Providing for Prayer, Bible Study, Worship, and Family of God
experiences, we seek to reach people with the Good News of the Gospel,
and then endeavor to do the work of the ministry, edifying the Body of
Christ, as we come together in the unity of the faith and the
disciplines of llove, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of
Christ. |
There Are All Kinds Of Churches
There are those who are still doing what they have
always done and will do it pretty much the same way till Jesus comes.
We are changing the way we do some things - the Gospel of Jesus Christ
has never changed, and never will. But sometimes the method we use to
proclaim the Truth needs a little correction.
We are attempting to reach new folks - sometimes the Church gets stuck
in a rut and thinks only about itself. Hence, we never take time to
see and think about the multitude of folks around us. We think that is
a mistake.
We are taking action - we want you to let us know
what your needs are and we will genuinely make an attempt to meet
them. Then, you decide if we are meeting your need. If we are, let's
walk together.
There is no perfect Church - if there were, we would
have a hard time being part of it. Only Christ is perfect, and we are
simply attempting to emulate Him in all we do.

We understand that there are a multitude of
Churches you can attend. Here's a little about us to help you decide
if you would like to give us a look.
There Are No Two Ways About It
We are attempting to reach you! We have a message of
life and hope which have the capability or radically changing your
life when you let Jesus Christ rule and reign in your daily walk.
We believe that people today are looking for Truth.
Truth that stands the test of time, and truth that stands the test of
real life. Jesus Christ said, "I am the Truth," and we proclaim Him as
our Lord and Master
We believe that people today are looking for
answers. We have those answers in God's Word. We proclaim it clearly
and accurately, and with authority. We don't yell and pound a pulpit,
We just open the Word and share out of our lives how it has worked in
our experience, and how it can work in yours. Jesus never condemned
people, so we don't either.
We know that there is nothing easy about the message
we proclaim. So we won't say there is. Nothing worth while is easy. We
know that not everyone will agree with us, but we won't be
disagreeable about it. We're going to practice the discipline of llove,
no less is demanded of us. |

Why we spell llove with two L's.
We believe that the Scripture offers a clear, concise, and simple
definition of llove. Unfortunately our World, and the society
we live in has so cheapened the word love that we are no longer able
to identify with it. While the World finds it to be some uncertain,
nebulous, falling-in/falling-out kind of emotion which ebbs and flows
depending on circumstances and response, genuine llove is
something entirely different.
1 Corinthians 13:4--8 provides us a look at llove.
Many call it agape, Greek term that means little to most folks.
Several years ago, long before Shady Grove, I preached a sermon
called, "Let's Make Llove A Five Letter Word." Well, I have
stayed with it and brought it along to all the folks I meet. We
understand that llove is not so much an emotion as a
discipline. It is not something you "have." Rather it is something you
do. God did it to us. We do it to Him. And here at Shady Grove we are
learning how to do it to one another. You won't hear us use the term
lightly. It demands from us a commitment that espouses all those
qualities indicated in Scripture. LLove is the Real Thing. |
