Clay Brown

Music Director

A native of Baltimore, I was raised in a Christian home where I was shielded by faith and encircled by prayer and saved at a young age. I married my beautiful kind-hearted wife Shannon, in college in 1997. Our son, Cleighton Luke, blesses us every day with his incredible wit, Godly wisdom, and caring compassion.

II graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UTA and a Doctorate degree in Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.

Playing a variety of instruments in high school bands and orchestras as well as playing semi-professionally in a brass quintet formed my musical background.

After attending Shady Grove for 18 years, I answered a strong calling on my life to lead the music. I believe music needs to allow the worship experience the opportunity to be what it is designed to be: a privilege, duty, and joy to glorify Almighty God. Our music seeks to separate us from the world through refreshment and renewal of peace to our soul allowing our light to shine forth into the world.
