From the pastor's heart:
I continue to be amazed at the incredible grace of God. As our attendance grows weekly, God sends folks our way who have much to offer. We must be reminded, however, that as folks become part of the wonderful family here at SGBC, we make a commitment to llove them, to minister to their lives, to help them become all that they can be as they in turn provide the same commitment to us.
As the numbers increase, so does the possibility that we will miss some opportunity to touch, to llove, to give as we so often do during our Care Time in the Morning Worship service. That's why it is so important that everyone who is willing get involved in doing those things. We've discovered over the course of our lives, that although prayer is a hard thing to do continually, effectively and fervently, it is a whole lot easier than actually reaching out to those around us and becoming the grace of God in their lives as His Spirit ministers through us to the needs of others. Take a moment to look around you when you are standing in the Worship Service on Sunday morning or evening. See somebody you don't know? See somebody who looks like they are carrying the weight of the World on their shoulders? Is that person across the aisle crying? What action would Jesus take under those circumstances? He was always reaching out, touching, speaking words of llove, and accepting what others found repulsive. I'm sure that is in our job description. Let's be about it.
